Depending on the needs of the client, workshops are designed to create team visions, clarify inter- or intra-team expectations, improve trust, resolve tough issues, assess the health of teams, define roles and responsibilities or establish improvement plans.
When people are called together to discuss difficult or emotional issues, an outside meeting facilitator may be valuable to ensure productive use of time. Often, a group member facilitating the meeting leads to perceptions of biased facilitation and does not allow the facilitator to fully participate in the meeting. An outside facilitator is also useful when the agenda is particularly full and there is concern about keeping the group on track and achieving all the goals within the time frame. An additional service is the application of negotiation techniques to mediate discussions around sensitive issues.
